Education in the Midst of Global Crises: How to bring Active Hope to the Classroom
How do we help young people to engage consciously and creatively with what’s unfolding in the world around us without shutting down or burning out? This webinar will introduce participants to the work of Active Hope and the Work that Reconnects developed with many others by eco-philosopher and environmental activist Joanna Macy over the past 50 years. The webinar will introduce participants to the 4 stages of the spiral of Active Hope (Grounding in Gratitude, Honouring our Pain for the World, Seeing through New/Ancient Eyes and Going Forth) and how the practices for each stage can be adapted for different age groups from primary to secondary students with lots of case examples. We will also share resources with participants who wish to learn more about facilitating Active Hope practices in their own classrooms.
