Limerick Education Centre/Ionad Oideachais Luimnigh serves the school communities of Limerick City and county and parts of North Tipperary. The Education Centre endeavours to meet the needs of the school communities through offering bespoke support across a wide range of professional development programmes.
The Management Committee believes in a partnership approach with other agencies at both a local and regional level. In doing so it has developed a strategic partnership with the National Monuments Section of the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government which has resulted in the publication of two resources promoting the preservation of our built heritage as part of the primary and post-primary curriculum. The Centre is also involved in the development of local partnerships with the HSE, the Third level Sector, the Department of Justice and Law Reform and other agencies.
Limerick Education Centre has a national remit for the administration of the Probationary Teacher programme, the Circus and Fairground Support Service and is the administrative base for the Sciences and maths pillar of the PDST.
